Gerard Anthony is the principal founder of Anthony Law Group, PLLC
where he represents entertainment clients in a variety of areas including music, film, branding, event production, business formation and intellectual property.


Gerard also serves as in-house counsel for AFROPUNK, one of the
fastest growing music festivals and brands in the country. His responsibilities include but are not limited to performance agreements, sponsorship, vendor and branding as well as overall governance. His duties extend to the oversight of AFROPUNK festivals in Brooklyn, Atlanta and Johannesburg, South Africa.


Gerard is a graduate of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

Jackie Robinson

Jackie M. Robinson is an attorney in the New York office of Akerman LLP, where he focuses his practice on entertainment and copyright matters. He counsels songwriters, composers, producers, music publishers and creators in day-to-day copyright matters and high-value entertainment-related transactions. He cites VH1’s “Behind the Music” program as the single most important factor that led him to practicing entertainment law.

 

Prior to joining Akerman, he began his legal career in the IP Transactions group at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in downtown Manhattan.

 

Jackie is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Harvard College.  Prior to law school, he had a 2-year stint working at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California.  Most of all, he misses the free meals.

Naima Cochrane

Naima Cochrane earned her music entertainment stripes first as an intern at Bad Boy Entertainment, and grew over the course her career in the marketing departments of Arista Records, Columbia Records, and Epic Records - with a few detours and tangents along the way. Through a now 20-year career, Naima has worked on and/or spearheaded the marketing for projects and artists including Maxwell, Beyoncé, Juicy J, Mary Mary, Tyler, the Creator, Ciara, Jidenna, and John Legend. The latter relationship ultimately prompted her to move to the management side of the business and join Friends at Work, where she handled Legend’s Day-to-Day and applied her marketing and label insight across all platforms of the company for two years.


Since 2018, Naima has worked with brands, organizations, and public-facing figures to shape their stories in authentic ways and develop strategic solutions in marketing and branding through her company, This is cltr. (culture), and manages the music career of TONY, Emmy and Grammy-award winning actress and singer Cynthia Erivo.

Naima is also a music and culture writer, with a focus on telling the unknown and/or forgotten stories that connect the dots between current music and culture and the foundations of the past, through her wildly viral and popular Twitter series #MusicSermon, and work with Vibe, Billboard and more.
